In plain words

  • We collect only what is needed to run event pages: accounts for organisers, and whatever an organiser's RSVP, guestbook and photo features ask guests for.
  • RSVP details are visible only to the organiser of that event. They are never shown on public pages.
  • No advertising, no analytics trackers, no selling or renting of personal information.
  • Photos are re-saved without location data, and IP addresses are stored only as a one-way keyed hash.
  • You can delete your account, events and photos yourself, and you can ask us to act on your data.

This summary is a convenience. The full text below is what applies.

1Who we are and what this covers

LOVIJO is operated by APIUSARTECH Digital Solutions (“LOVIJO”, “we”, “us”). It lets organisers build event websites and share them by link or QR code, and lets guests RSVP, leave messages and share photos.

Two different roles matter here:

  • Organisers (people with a LOVIJO account). For your account information we decide how data is used, so we are the controller.
  • Guests (people who use an event page). The organiser decides what an event asks guests for and why, so the organiser is the controller of guest information for that event, and LOVIJO handles it on the organiser’s behalf as a processor. For guest requests we also help directly where we can.

This policy applies to the LOVIJO website and event pages. It is written with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 in mind, and we aim to treat people fairly wherever they live.

2Information we collect

WhoWhat we collectWhy
OrganisersName, email address, optional phone number, a password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form), account status and the time of your last login.To create and secure your account and let you manage events.
Event contentWhat organisers enter or upload: titles, dates, venues, descriptions, programmes, announcements, images, design choices and settings.To build and show the event page.
Guests: RSVPName, whether they attend, party size, and, only if the organiser switched them on, email, phone number and a short message. When a guest attends we also generate an access code for their access card.So the organiser can plan, and so the guest can unlock photos, likes and comments.
Guests: guestbook, photos, likes, commentsThe display name and message a guest types, photos they upload, and their likes and comments (shown under the name on their RSVP).To show these on the event page, where the organiser can moderate them.
Messages to usName, email address, topic, your message, an optional event link, and, if you are logged in, your account ID.To read and answer your message and keep a record of it.
Technical and security dataA one-way keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself), short-lived counters used to limit abuse, a security log of important account actions (including when you sign in and failed sign-in attempts), and error logs kept for troubleshooting. Authorised LOVIJO administrators can see account, sign-in and event information, and messages sent through the Contact page, to run and protect the service.To keep the service safe, block spam and fix faults.

What we do not collect: we do not currently collect payment details, precise location, or contacts from your phone. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers and we do not offer social-media login.

Our hosting provider’s servers may keep ordinary web-server access logs, which include IP addresses, under the provider’s own policies.

3How we use information

  • To provide the service: showing event pages, handling RSVPs, hosting galleries and guestbooks, generating QR codes and access cards, and letting organisers manage and export their own data.
  • To keep things safe: signing you in, protecting accounts, preventing spam and abuse, and enforcing our Terms.
  • To communicate: sending password-reset emails and replying to messages you send us.
  • To fix and improve: finding and repairing faults using error logs.
  • To meet legal duties and protect our rights, for example when a valid legal request requires it.

Our reasons for handling information are: it is needed to provide the service you asked for (contract), you chose to give it to us (consent, for example when you RSVP or write to us), we have a legitimate interest in running a secure service, or the law requires it.

We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not make decisions about people by automated profiling.

4Who can see what

InformationWho can see it
RSVP name, attendance, party size, email, phone and messageOnly the organiser of that event (and LOVIJO staff when needed to run or support the service). Never on public pages.
Event page contentAnyone who can open the event link. Events marked public can appear in search engines; unlisted events are not indexed but anyone with the link can open them; passcode events need the passcode.
Guestbook messagesShown on the event page once approved (if the organiser moderates). Organisers can hide or delete them.
Guest photos, likes and commentsVisitors of the event page can see guest photos and the names on likes and comments. The organiser can hide, delete and download guest photos and delete comments.
Access codeThe guest it belongs to, the organiser (it appears in their RSVP export), and anyone the page recognises as that guest on the same device or, in the limited case described under Cookies, the same internet connection. Treat it like a ticket and keep it private.
Messages to usOur team.

5Cookies and recognising returning guests

LOVIJO uses only the cookies it needs to work. None of them are for advertising or tracking.

CookiePurposeLasts
lovijo_sidKeeps organisers signed in, protects forms against forgery and shows one-time messages.Until you close your browser
lv_pass_…A signed cookie, one per event, that remembers a guest has RSVPed so they can add photos, like and comment without re-entering their code.90 days

Recognising a returning guest by IP address

If a guest comes back without their cookie, for example on a new browser, we compare a keyed hash of the current IP address with the hash saved with RSVPs for that event. If exactly one attending guest used that IP address, the page may show that guest’s confirmation and access code instead of the RSVP form. If more than one guest used the same IP address, nobody is recognised this way.

People who share an internet connection, such as the same Wi-Fi at a venue or home, can therefore be mistaken for each other. That is why anyone shown the wrong name can enter their own access code to use their own pass. If you do not want to be recognised this way, ask us to remove the stored hash from your RSVP ( by email at hello@lovijo.com or through the Contact page ).

6Sharing and service providers

We share information only with the people and services needed to run LOVIJO:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that store the data and deliver the site, and the mail system used to send password-reset and contact emails.
  • The organiser of an event, who receives the guest information described above.
  • Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect people’s safety and our legal rights.
  • A successor if LOVIJO is ever transferred to another company, who must keep honouring this policy.

Organisers can add links to other websites, such as maps. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Our providers may store data on servers outside your country. Where that happens we only use providers that protect data appropriately, and we take steps to keep your information safe wherever it is.

7How long we keep information

InformationHow long we keep it
Organiser accountUntil you delete it. Deleting your account permanently removes your events, RSVPs, programme, announcements, guestbook, gallery photos and uploaded files.
An eventUntil the organiser deletes it. Deleting an event removes its RSVPs, programme, announcements, guestbook, photos, likes and comments.
Individual RSVPs, messages, photos and commentsUntil the organiser deletes them. Guests can also delete their own uploaded photos.
Password-reset linksShort-lived and single use.
Abuse-limiting countersRemoved automatically after about a day.
Messages you send usWhile we deal with your request and for a reasonable time afterwards as a record, then deleted. If you delete your account, a message you sent while logged in stays but is no longer linked to your account.
Error and security logsOnly as long as needed for troubleshooting and security.

Copies held in our hosting provider’s backups can remain for a limited period before they are overwritten.

8Security

We protect information with measures that include encrypted connections (HTTPS), one-way hashing of passwords and reset tokens, protection against forged form submissions, limits on repeated attempts, and re-saving uploaded images without their hidden metadata (such as GPS location). Event pages marked unlisted are kept out of search engines.

No online service can promise perfect security. If a breach is likely to put people at risk, we will tell the people affected and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

You can help by choosing a strong, unique password, keeping your access code private, and downloading or exporting data you need to keep.

9Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what information we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • have your information deleted, or restrict or object to how it is used;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what happened before; and
  • complain to your data protection authority. In Nigeria this is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Organisers can edit and delete most of their information in the dashboard and Account page, and export RSVPs.

Guests: because the organiser decides how RSVP information is used, please ask the organiser first. If you cannot reach them, or the request is about LOVIJO itself, contact us by email at hello@lovijo.com or through the Contact page with the topic Privacy request and the event link. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

10Children

Organisers must be at least 18. LOVIJO is not aimed at children. If an organiser includes information or photos of a child, they are responsible for having permission from a parent or guardian. If we learn that a child’s information was collected without proper permission, we will remove it.

11If you are an organiser

If you are an organiser, you decide what your guests are asked for, so you are responsible for how you use it. Please:

  • ask only for what you need, and tell guests why;
  • use RSVP details and downloaded guest photos only for your event and in ways guests would expect;
  • keep exports and downloads secure, and delete them when you no longer need them; and
  • respond to guests who ask about their information.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as LOVIJO changes or the law changes. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes we will give clearer notice, for example on the website or by email to organisers.
